0-10V Luminaires: Reliable & Stepless Light Control for Commercial and Industrial Applications

Opt for one of the most proven and durable lighting technologies: luminaires with 0-10V control offer an extremely reliable, analogue solution for stepless brightness control. Whether for industrial halls, logistics centres, sales areas or office buildings – the analogue 0-10V interface enables uncomplicated, fail-safe control of your lighting with maximum energy efficiency.

What is 0-10V control for luminaires?

The 0-10V interface is a widely used standard for analogue dimming of lighting systems. A low-voltage DC voltage between 0 and 10 volts is transmitted to the operating device (LED driver) of the luminaire via a separate two-wire control line.

  • 10 Volt signal: The luminaire operates at full power (100% brightness).
  • 1 Volt signal: The luminaire is dimmed to its minimum brightness (usually 1% to 10%).
  • 0 Volt signal: The luminaire switches to the lowest dimming level or switches off completely (depending on driver specifications).

In contrast to digital systems, 0-10V control does not require complex addressing or software programming, which makes commissioning particularly easy.

The advantages of 0-10V luminaires at a glance

  • Proven & Fail-safe: Analogue technology without software bugs or addressing errors – ideal for harsh industrial environments.
  • Easy Commissioning: No programming necessary; plug-and-play principle via analogue control signals.
  • Stepless Dimming: Smooth, flicker-free dimming for optimal visual comfort and needs-based illumination.
  • High Compatibility: Seamlessly combinable with common analogue dimmers, potentiometers, motion detectors and building management systems (PLCs).
  • High Savings Potential: By reducing light output, power consumption decreases proportionally – this saves budget and extends the lifespan of LED drivers.

DALI vs. 0-10V: When is 0-10V the right choice?

While digital systems like DALI excel at individual control, 0-10V control shines wherever groups of luminaires need to be controlled synchronously and without complications.

The main differences lie in the transmission method and system complexity: While 0-10V relies on a true analogue voltage signal, DALI works with a digital data protocol. This makes commissioning 0-10V systems particularly easy, as no software programming is required – the luminaires are controlled directly via the control unit. With DALI, on the other hand, configuration is done via software, which allows for extremely flexible customisation.

In practice, this means: Via a 0-10V line, all connected luminaires are always controlled together as a group. DALI, however, allows individual luminaires as well as any groups to be addressed independently. In addition, DALI offers a feedback channel for status messages (e.g., for transmitting lamp errors or operating hours), which the analogue 0-10V system does not have. Ultimately, 0-10V impresses with very low system complexity, while DALI offers maximum control options for medium to high functionality.

Areas of application for 0-10V controlled luminaires

Thanks to their robustness and ease of use, 0-10V systems are preferably used in large-scale applications:

  1. Industry & Logistics: Synchronous dimming of high-bay luminaires and continuous row lighting in warehouses and production lines.
  2. Commercial & Supermarkets: Central brightness control for large-area LED panels and downlights via daylight sensors.
  3. Car Parks & Outdoor Areas: Automated reduction of brightness when not in use in combination with motion sensors.

Discover 0-10V luminaires now & reduce energy costs

Optimise your lighting system with robust dimming technology. In our range, you will find high-quality 0-10V-capable LED panels, downlights, high-bay luminaires and moisture-proof battens for your next project.

Tip: When planning, ensure whether your dimming control handles the switching of the mains voltage or whether an additional relay is required to completely disconnect the luminaires from the mains at 0 volts.

Industrial Lighting Control with 0-10V Dimming System

The 0-10V dimming system is a proven, analog control technology for professional lighting installations. A simple control signal between 0 and 10 volts allows for stepless adjustment of the brightness of connected luminaires – reliably, interference-free, and compatible with a variety of building automation systems. Our 0-10V luminaires are specifically designed for use in industry, logistics, and large commercial areas.

High Bay HALLS LINE 3

The HALLS LINE 3 is available in two power levels – 75W and 150W – and impresses with a 90° beam angle and IP66 protection class. This makes it ideal for production halls, warehouses, and outdoor areas where moisture and dust are a concern. Thanks to 0-10V dimmability, the illuminance can be precisely adjusted to demand, and energy can be saved efficiently.

High Bay PHANTOM

The PHANTOM series offers powerful high bay lighting in 100W and 200W with IP65 protection and neutral white light. The 0-10V control enables precise brightness regulation – whether for uniform basic illumination or demand-driven dimming depending on daylight or occupancy.

High Bay PLATEO 4

The PLATEO 4 is available in power levels from 100W to 200W and combines cool white or neutral white light color with a 90° beam angle and IP65 protection. The 0-10V interface makes it a flexible choice for logistics centers, sports halls, and industrial facilities that require easy integration into existing control infrastructure.
