What is DALI control in luminaires?

DALI is a manufacturer-independent standard for digital lighting control. Unlike analog systems, a DALI lighting control system enables bidirectional communication between the control unit and each individual DALI luminaire.

This means: Each operating device receives its own address. This allows luminaires not only to be switched together in groups but also to be individually controlled, steplessly dimmed, and monitored for their status (e.g., operating hours or error messages).
